Born of a feeling like you were so small that you meant nothing. Or that you now feel like an apparition in your own body, or a total waste of a human, breathing air. Like a shell, just moving along ,doing things with no one driving. That feeling you may get, when trying to concentrate on one thing , just to ground yourself to reality.

The chorus is about trying to feel alive while counting raindrops, and trying to slow down time.

Slowing time for a raindrop in this instance, turns it into ice : snow. Slow motion rain, is snow flakes. (Or dancing between falling leaves in fall) Ghosts are able to do these things. They can slow time; they can dance between rain drops. When everything stops falling; Rain;Leaves:snow: you are truly invisible, because you can no longer pretend, you can no longer dance.
